This year in March at the Geneva Motor Show, Peugeot revealed a new version of the 908 LMP1 called the Hybrid4. As expected the model uses a hybrid engine. The French carmaker didn't want to enter the diesel-electric racer in different competitions like the 24 Hour of Le Mans, because it was relying on the current 908 HDi diesel. Why? Well, because the model was in its early stages of development and because is scheduled to compete starting next year. The model was tested on September 16th, but it was kept a secret. Now it will be tested in Portugal at the Estoril track. Stephan Sarazin and Nicolas Minassian, the company's drivers, completed more than 300 km in a glitch. Of course the distance was not very relevant, but Bruno Famin, Peugeot Sport's technical director, said they wanted to verify that all chief functions performed and that they needed precise answers to be able to move forward with the study. The next one in line to adopt hybrid technology is the Formula 1. Toyota announced its own LMP1 Le Mans race car.
