The 2012 model year Insight will be introduced on the US market by Honda. The model features the same IMA system that includes a 1.3-liter petrol unit and a 10 kW electric motor, together being able to produce 98 horsepower and 123 lb.-ft. of torque. The CVT controls the flow of power that now comes with a reduced friction. The modifications brought to the exterior include a revised front grille, revamped front and rear fascias, new wheels design, redesigned light clusters and underbody changes. Thanks to the CVT modifications and the aerodynamic ones, the efficiency increased of 1 mpg from the outgoing model's 40 mpg in the city, 43 mpg on the highway and 41 mpg in the city. The 2012 Insight features a modified rear bench, new seat fabrics and a new instrument cluster background. Also Honda had improved the rear visibility, introducing rear hatch changes. The starting price of the 2012 Insight is $ 19.120, so $ 150 premium over the model it replaces. Also, you should know the model is already available for order.
