Hyundai will recall thousand s of Veracruz and Santa Fe models

Time has come for a recall and now it's time for Hyundai to come clean. Apparently the carmaker will initiate a recall campaign for 205.233 units of the 2007 and 2008 Veracruz and Santa Fe models in the US. It seems like the driver's airbag may not deploy in the event of a crash. This is what the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration declared.
The clock sprint contact mechanism for the driver's airbag, could were in time and this could lead to a high resistance for the electrical circuit of the airbag. This could be the reason for which the system might fail.
Until now, Hyundai has received 6.730 warranty claims and 13 customer complaints about the problem in the Santa Fe models and 1.083 in the Veracruz cars.
The recall will begin this month with dealers replacing the driver's airbag clock spring in the affected cars. The carmaker tried to convince people to contact the dealers for an appointment if the "Air Bag" warning lamp comes on.
The Hyundai specialists can be contacted at 1-800-633-5151 for any questions related to the problem.
