Mitsubishi did its part and delivered the first 50 of the total of 507 i-MiEVs to the government of Estonia. The small electric vehicles will be part of the policy developed to popularize electric vehicles in all the country following the Green Investment Scheme under the Kyoto Protocol.
For the arrival of the EVs, there was held a ceremony in the capital of the country, Tallinn and here attended the Prime Minister of Estonia and other Estonian officials.
The delivery of the 507 i-MiEVs to the Estonian government was concluded actually after an agreement was signed between Mitsubishi Corporation and the Estonian Government this past March. And also, as part of this agreement they have to buy 10 million tons of emission rights.
The rest of the small cars will arrive to destination by the end of the current fiscal year. This is what MMC plans.
