Skoda won the Super 2000 World Rally Championship

The first rally title in the company's 110-year old history was won by Skoda last weekend's RACC Rally of Spain and the Super 2000 World Rally Championship.
Drivers Juho Hanninen and Mikko Markkula managed to complete 18 stages and 406.5 km, over both tarmac and gravel. This is the longest event in the calendar.
Three days later, the two managed to bring their Skoda Fabia S2000 to the finish line in first place in their class and 10th overall. This way they have won the title, after the Estonian Ott Tanak , their main rival, retired on the first day.
The two drivers insisted in thanking everyone that had a contribution to their achievement and to say this was an important step in their career.
The car that came in second is a Ford Fiesta S2000 with drivers Nasser Al-Attiyah and Giovanni Bernachinni. It had arriver 14.9 seconds behind the Fabia.
