We always hear about new safety improvements and new technologies. These are just great, but in the same time, they reduce the performance and efficiency because of their weight. Many carmakers try to find ways to reduce it. One of them is Mercedes-Benz. Apparently it's working on a carbon-fiber variant of the E-Class Coupe. It seems that the Germans are trying to get the two door model to 1.300 kg, loosing 350 kg. This is not all. The carmaker will also release a hybrid version and maybe an AMG version as well that will be able to reach new records with its performance tools. Using the carbon fiber parts it will ease the engineer's job of getting new style cues. This new and interesting variant, the E-Class Superlight will arrive in around three year's time, in 2015. Until that happens, we'll keep you informed with the interesting steps of the process.
