Cadillac will introduce the diesels to its engine range

Carmaker Cadillac feels good thanks to its new models that are quite competitive and look better than their predecessors. One thing is mission though. The European rivals, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have something extra: diesel engines.
Apparently they don't have them yet, because, Don Butler, Cadillac's marketing vice president declared that GM's luxury division will add them to its engine range. They want to be the best and if this is what it takes, then, for sure they will do it.
The carmaker is determined to sell the models with diesel engines outside North America, but also, because of diesel's great torque and great performance they could also be sold in the US.
We'll just have to see if this time they will go all the way, because back in the 1970s, Cadillac has attempted to offer diesel-powered models as a response to Mercedes-Benz and so introduced the V8. Because of the reliability problems, the project failed.
Let's just hope it won't do the same mistakes again.
