At the Motor Show held in Tokyo this year, Suzuki showed the public the Swift EV range extended hybrid. The plug-in hybrid system it has now can be fitted on other Suzuki models as well. This new car is believed to be a global one. The motor offers only an 18 miles range and this is why the carmaker is trying to improve the system to be able to offer the model for the European market and so, it need a bigger range than 18 miles. To be fully -charged the Swift EV needs only 90 minutes on a 200 V outlet. If it uses a 100 V outlet it takes around four hours to be fully charged. It sounds like an interesting development, but it really needs a bigger range to fit on the European market. It can't really be that difficult for Suzuki and for sure it will manage to adapt it, and fast. Source: autoevolution
