The name of the Prius C created by Toyota will be revealed outside Japan under a different name, the Aqua. But this is actually the only thing that is different about the Aqua. It was presented to the public at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan.
The model features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that is able to produce 74 horsepower and 111 Nm of torque and also an electric motor that produces 61 horsepower and 169 Nm of torque. The power is being sent to the front wheels through a CVT. The model measures 3.995 mm in length, 1.695 mm in width and 1.445 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2.550 mm.
The fuel consumption of the new Aqua indicated 83.3 mpg or 2.8 l/100 km under the JC08 test cycle and 40 km/l under the 10-15 driving cycle, that means 2.5 l/100 km.
By the end of this month, the Aqua will be launched and not long after, the Prius C will be available in showrooms worldwide.
