Volkswagen will unveil some electric concepts in Detroit

Even if until now the German carmaker Volkswagen was a little absent from the electric and hybrid vehicle sector, now it had decided to make up for it and it seems that it will release a few environment-friendly models in the next two years.
Next month, in Detroit at the Auto Show, the carmaker will reveal a new pure electric concept car, but also the production version of the Jetta Hybrid.
The electric vehicle concept does not have as base any current production model and so far, Volkswagen is calling it "pure concept". The model is expected to arrive in the VW's North American showrooms, next November. The Jetta Hybrid will feature an 11.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine coupled to an electric motor.
Apparently, this model will be a serious competitor on the US hybrid market for the Toyota Prius, a model that dominates now, but we will just have to wait and see the responses.
