Rolls Royce finished the world tour of its 102EX Electric Concept. The carmaker wanted to see if the Phantom Experimental Electric model will react well in different weather conditions and also wanted to see the way the public will react to a regular Phantom. The car has travelled from Singapore to New York and even visited the French capital, Paris. We don't really know if the model will go for production, but what we do know, is that the carmaker is doing a market study. It will reveal the results at the beginning of 2012. It features two electric motors and the power it's being sent to the wheels through a single-speed transmission. The car can deliver 389 horsepower and 590 lb. ft. of torque. It can accelerate reaching a top speed of 99 mph and it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds. The tests regarding the battery management that maintains safety and optimal operation of individual cells, will inhibit if the charging is done at very low temperatures and this is why finding a location where the car can cool after test drives before a re-charge can start again is a must.
