Tesla decided to reveal the final US prices and options on its new 2012 Model S electric sports saloon, a model that will have its first deliveries by the end of 2012. If you are interested, you should know that the carmaker is offering the BMW 5-Series-sized sedan in two trim levels, Performance and basic. The Performance model features an 85 kW battery and its price is $ 87.400 or $ 79.900 without the federal tax credit of $ 7.500. It has a Nappa leather interior with Alcantara accents and also an Active Air Suspension and 21-inch alloy wheels. The basic version features tree battery options with 40 kW, 60 kW and 85 KW that cost $ 49.900, $ 59.900 and $ 69.900. The carmaker offered as standard a 17-inch Touchscreen and 19-inch alloy wheels. There are also different other available extras and packages like the Tech Package, a glass panoramic roof, rear USB ports, LED fog lights, keyless entry and so on. The 40 kW battery offers a 160 miles range at an average speed of 55 mph. It can reach a top speed of 110 mph and it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The model with the 60 kW battery specifications offers an estimated range of 230 miles at 55 mph it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 120 mph. The Model S can travel for 300 miles with the 80 kW battery, can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 125 mph. By the middle of next year, the 85 kW batteries will be available, the 60 kW ones, three months later and last, but not least, the 40 kW batteries will be available by the end of the year.
