GM has some problems now as it has to recall 15.817 Cadillac SRX crossovers worldwide. Apparently everything started with an improperly installed transmission shift cable. The 2012 and 2011 models that were affected were built from October 26th 2008 till June 23rd 2011.
Everything was clear for the carmaker when a customer has sent a letter in June 22nd this year saying that a 2011 SRX was moving as he was trying to shift between Park and Drive and then back to Park. Not long after this, the American company started testing all vehicles at its plant and found out that 11 out of 710 SRX models had a problem with the transmission shift cables because of improperly installation.
The GM engineers will test the transmission shift cable just to be sure there is no problem with it, that it was installed correctly. The Recall will probably start at the beginning of next year.
