Time has come to say goodbye to the Dodge Caliber and the Nitro SUV

Dodge will say goodbye to the Caliber crossover and the Nitro SUV by the end of this year. The last examples of the two were seen rolling off Chrysler's Belvidere, Illinois and Toledo North assembly plants this month.
The Caliber was a model introduced back in 2006 and was developed to replace the Neon, but it did not have a lot of success. The powertrain and the drivetrain were not enough for the customers and its interior as well. In May 2008 sales indicated 12.856 units / month and in November 2009 the sales if the five-door model dropped to 412 units / month.
The car that will replace the Caliber will be revealed at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show and it's called the 2013 Dodge Dart, a model that has as base the Giulietta built by Alfa Romeo.
The Nitro SUV was also revealed in 2006 and had the same platform with the Jeep Liberty. The inside was very poor and the dynamics were way behind the customer's needs.
March 2007 was the best month for the Nitro when it came to sales with 7.532 units delivered and on the other end was July 2009 which was the worst with 1.115 units delivered.
