So far we've heard about the Chevrolet Volt lithium-ion pack, that has some difficulties and that is under investigation by the NHTSA. GM is not the only company that has problems. Apparently Fisker Automotive also discovered it had safety issue when it comes to batteries. A123 Systems is a company that builds battery packs for different other carmakers. The CEO of A123 Systems said that the problem the carmaker has with its luxury Karma refers to the battery pack cooling system. This problem can very easily cause an electrical short circuit and this is something you don't want to happen in your car, for sure. The problem was confirmed in 50 cases so far. The First Karma models were finished last March, but the deliveries began in October. The car was priced at $ 97.000. Now, the carmaker produces 25 units a day and will produce 60, next year.
