There was found a problem with the gauge reading in Infiniti M45 sedan cars. Normally, this is not a big problem, you empty the tank before filling it up again, but when the reading is not accurate, well, here is the true problem. Some 2003 and 2004 Infiniti M45 cars have this minus. The low fuel warning light is not going up before visiting a service station. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration said that it had received 43 complaints indicating inaccurate fuel gauge reading. 26 of them resulted in engine stall as the fuel level reading indicated fuel in the tank when there was none. To open the investigation, the NHTSA started a preliminary test including 8.100 Infiniti M45 cars and tried to analyze the safety consequences associated with the alleged defect. We will let you know how everything went as soon as the information will be made public.
