Honda stops sales for some used models

An air bag defect which has resulted in 18 injuries and two deaths has made Honda to issue a recall, an announcement which has been made in a letter sent by the Japanese carmaker to all its dealers. It appears that the problem is caused by the driver-side airbag which seems to deploy with too much force, sending metal shards into the driver. According to the US regulations, these cars cannot be sold in such conditions and thus, a recall is strongly required, focusing on the new cars, but as Honda is very cautious and puts safety on the first place, the recall will also affect used models. 2001-2002 Honda Accord models, 2001-2003 Civic and Odyssey models, 2002-2003 CR-V, 2003 Pilot, 2002-2003 Acura TL and the 2003 Acura CL, will be part of the recall process. Honda and Acura dealers were told that some vehicles affected by the campaign might be in their inventory and they had to be repaired before they were sold.
