2013 Ford Fusion gets two turbocharged gasoline engines

The next week's Detroit Motor Show is going to host the next generation Fusion, which is planned to hit the markets as a 2013MY in North America. As the Blue Oval did not reveal much information on the Fusion, the initial engine line-up was confirmed, though. Thus, a choice of four powerplants will be available for the 2013 Fusion that arrives in the U.S. dealerships later this year. A pair of EcoBoost four-cylinder gasoline units featuring a displacement of 1.6-liters and 2.0-liters, will be part of the gasoline range. Two hybrid variants are also available, both of them featuring a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder that is also shared with the C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAXX Energi Plug-in Hybrid. As compared to the outgoing 2012 Fusion Hybrid comprising the 2.5-liter engine which returns a fuel economy of 41mpg city and 36 mpg highway, the regular 2013 Fusion Hybrid boasts a much better fuel economy as the Energi variant is struggling to top the segment. The enthusiast customers will be able to purchase the 2013 Ford Fusion with a choice of automatic and manual transmissions and both front and all-wheel drive. Just like the latest Focus, the new Fusion has been produced as global model and it going to me marketed outside North America as the new Mondeo, being highly important for Ford.
