Last year Mini introduced the Mini Rocketman Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Rumors spread saying that the German carmaker is indeed planning to put the city-car sized Mini into production and all this to happen by 2016. Things are a little different in reality. Apparently the German group will introduce an even smaller Mini model that was created having as inspiration the Rocketman. The vehicle has a very small footprint, only 3.419 mm in length and this is why in order to achieve the desired levels of stability and handling and also to adhere to current safety regulations, the carmaker will have to invest some money in developing a new, smaller platform. The design of the Rocketman will live for now in the next generation of Mini models and even in the Mini hatchback. We will wait and see how things turn out, but so far, we have to admit, the model looks quite good.
