Buick Excelle is the best selling car in China for 2011

In terms of sales in 2011, the aging Volkswagen Golf was on top in Europe with 485,547 units, being followed by the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta. The first place in the United States was taken by the Ford's F-Series with 584,917 units, being trailed by the Chevrolet Silverado and the Toyota Camry. The Buick Excelle is the top seller in China with 254,00 units, as China Association of Automobile Manufacturers informed. Three guises are available for the Buick model, the Excelle GT sedan which is the same as the U.S. market Verano, the Opel Astra hatchback based Excelle XT and the older generation Excelle sedan. GM's Chevrolet Cruze finished third and the Chevrolet New Sail reached the seventh place. The VW brand has the Lavida, Jetta, Bora and Santana models rank second, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. The eighth place was taken by China FAW Group's Xiali, while Hyundai Elantra Yuedong finished ninth and Ford Focus occupied the tenth place on the list.
