Ford Motor Company's representative at the NASCAR Sprint Cup series received a new look due to the presentation of the 2013 Fusion at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this month. It focuses only on looks as the NASCAR racer presented in the pictures below has nothing in common with the 2013 Fusion sedan that is to be found at local Ford dealerships. NASCAR racer's familiar looks appears to be an efficient promotional tool meant to sell more Fusions to the masses. Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing, stated that they wanted Fusion to be the car that was a great help for the return of the "stock car" to NASCAR, adding that the fans would undoubtedly smile and cheer when they saw the car. The sport will improve thanks to their reengaging with the sport, as there is nothing more pleasant than seeing race cars that look like cars in their driveways. Ford's design team is led by Nicoghosian and they addressed three main issues in order to make the NASCAR racer look as much like the production Fusion as possible, including the brand and design cues on the car's profile and the front grille, as well as the vehicle's proportions. The 2013 Fusion NASCAR racer is scheduled to make its premiere at next year's Daytona 500 in February.
