German carmaker PG and Dusseldorf with Michael Frohlich have created the PG Elektrus. The roadster has as base the Lotus Elise and it is powered by a lithium-ion battery using an electric motor. This model appeared after the production of the Tesla Roadster finished. The new Elektrus was covered in carbon fiber to reduce the weight of the car. Also it features the solar panel that is mounted behind the driver that collects the energy from the sun and converts it into electricity to recharge the batteries. The electric motor delivers the equivalent of 272 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This amount of power is actually enough to allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The carmaker says that is has a 350 km range under normal conditions. 667 units will be built and will be sold for EUR240.000 each.
