A UK policeman wrecked a new Golf R hatchback

The UK police it's now in the middle of an investigation. They are trying to find out how one of the officers managed to destroy a new Golf R hatchback. The bad this is that the car was on loan by German carmaker, Volkswagen for testing reasons. The incident took place at 2 am in the in morning on the public roads during a trial. For the European market, the Golf R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that can deliver 270 horsepower and that it can reach a top speed of 155 mph. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and its price is GBP 31.000.
Rumors say that the policeman was out testing the car with another fellow officer when he lost control of the car. The accident was very bad and the 40-year old officer had to be cut from the destroyed car by the firefighters. He was in the hospital because of some bad back injuries, but no he is doing better and so he was released. Also he was suspended from driving duties for a while.
