The Toyota 2000GT is a design and engineering icon, considered by most fans to be the epitome of all Japanese supercars. The Lexus LFA, Nissan GT-R and Acura NSX pay a homage to this ancestor which is very rare to be found for sale. Maine Line Exotics offered an example which is highly special, the MF10-100001, the first Toyota 2000GT produced and also one of the three that Toyota delivered to Shelby American Racing in 1967 in order to be ready for the 1968 SCCA season, two of them racing under the Shelby-Toyota banner in 1968. Davey Jordan drove the MF10-100001 which wore the #23. $1.7 million is the price as ked by Maine Line Exotics for this fascinating piece of automotive industry, and ultimatley of art.
