More and more carmakers use diesel engines on their modern, refined passenger cars. German automaker, BMW had revealed its tri-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six and we are now waiting for Audi to have a say in this. Not long ago, the carmaker announced the fact that they are planning to build a 3.0-liter V6 TDI bi-turbo engine that will produce 313 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. This is not all. The unit also uses modern technology that increases the efficiency. It uses a start-stop system and a thermal management system to be more precise. The A6 sedan will be the model wearing it. It will be coupled to an eight-speed Tip-Tronic transmission that will send the power to all the wheels. The model will be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds and it will be of reaching a top speed of 155 mph. The same engine will power the A6 Avant and the A7 Sportback. Like always, the VW Group is late with the development of the diesel engine, but better later than never, right?
