MINI will introduce soon the second generation Cooper and it really comes just in time. After the launch of the first generation, the carmaker had a challenge and didn't really make it as its 1.6-liter was very fast left behind by 2.0-liter competitors. BMW decided to introduce the new model that is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo engine, a unit that is cheaper to make and that is more powerful. In the gallery below you can see the first pictures taken of the 2013 Cooper during some tests in Sweden. The camouflage makes it a little difficult to understand what is going on under it, but even so, we can assume there is a smaller grille and smaller A pillar. Different unofficial sources said that the carmaker decided to replace the original 1.6-liter with a new three-cylinder engine. If this is a good idea or not, we will see, but an increase in power is way better than an economy increase in the premium segment. What do you think? Source: autoevolution
