The next generation espace has been under development for at least five years and, although a version was leaked in 2007, the French carmaker decided to take its time to perfect the people-mover and wait for an appropriate moment to introduce a new MPV on the market. The current generation has established itself on the market since 2002. These spy photographs reveal the vehicle as a test mule in the old body which is serves as a support for engineers to test a new suspension setup for the fifth-generation Espace. It is expected that the current IV people carrier be replaced this year, but it seems that the French are not very keen on revealing specific details. Some rumours say that it will comprise design cues taken from the Laguna, with elongated headlights. The use of sliding doors, which will make the access in the back a lot easier in car parks is one of the biggest changes applied to the current model. Autoevolution
