Mazda will reveal the MX-5 Miata in Chicago

Last year in October, Mazda revealed the MX-5 Sport Black Edition in the UK and the MX-5 Black Tune Edition in Japan. Now, the carmaker will unveil the 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition at the Chicago Auto Show in the US. In the gallery bellow you can see the first pictures of the model. The difference between the two already launched cars and the American version is that it will not be offered with the Spirited Green Metallic, but only with Pearl Mica, Chrystal White and Velocity Red Mica. Like the other two, the new Miata has a black-only Power Retractable Hard Top and will run on 17-inch wheels. The interior is equipped with black heated leather seats with accent stitching, alloy pedals and also piano black interior. The power will be sent to the wheels through an 8-speed manual transmission or through a 6-speed Sport automatic one with steering-wheel-mounted pedals. The 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine will be capable of producing 167 horsepower. Only 450 units of the MX-5 Miata Special Edition will be built and for the price we will have to wait a little longer.
