Toyota US sales were boosted by Camry

Coming with "everything you've ever wanted", the new Camry has appeared to be a surprising increase in demand for the mid-size segment, thus helping Toyota to recover in the US territory. The combined sales of Toyota, Lexus and Scion models have reached 124,540 vehicles in January. This increase took place thanks to the Camry, as the demand registered a growth of 56 percent for the popular mid-size, with younger buyers being attracted as well by the sportier SE trim level. Toyota division VP and General Manager Bob Carter, stated that the demand for the SE model continued to top the Camry lineup and they would have been able to sell more in January if they had had them. He added that they were adjusting their SE production mix in order to better meet customer demand in the following months, rising from about 8 percent for the previous generation Camry, to more than 40 percent for the current production mix.
