Volvo V40 was spy photographed during winter testing

A brand new vehicle, a five-door version of the C30 is being taken by Volvo on the European C-segment and it will not be named C40 as most enthusiasts might expect for the company has decided to call it V40, a name shared with a wagon a decade ago. The most recent spy photographs show the prototype undergoing its advanced stages of development. Way ahead its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, in March, the car appears as being fine-tuned in winter conditions on a frozen lake in Snadinavia. Its competitors at the famous international auto show will be embodied by the brand new Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3. However, the great little hatch is going to be a serious threat for the German rivals in spite of the fact that it will not be a market leader by any means. As far as powertrain is concerned, turbocharged four-cylinder lumps will exclusively form the engine range, while the usual plug-in hybrid with its impressive mileage will also be available.
