The BMW i3 MegaCity is being tested

German carmaker BMW is now testing its i3 prototype in Munich. The model is covered in a lot of camouflage and so it is quite hard to see all the aerodynamic and styling lines across its bodywork. Under the hood, the i3 is hiding an electric motor and batteries that are capable of producing 150 PS. This amount of power enables the model to reach a top speed of 160 km/h. The model has a range of up to 257 km on a single full charge. It features an aluminum chassis that has a passenger cell made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. The new BMW i3 will probably be revealed to the public in 2013 and will be available on the market starting 2014. Soon the production will start at the Leipzig plant and you might have to pay more than EUR 40.000 to have the keys for one of these bad boys. Source: worldcarfans
