Koenigsegg previews the 100th supercar in Geneva

The car enthusiasts are anxiously waiting for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show as it is going to bring a long list of fresh goodies, the most exotic of which being provided by the Swedish supercar producer Koenigsegg, thus previewing 100th car at this famous event. The Swedes have also announced that they are working to develop a camless engine, a pneumatic valvetrain inspired from the outstanding world of Formula 1. The waiting to see such a work of art is quite painful, but the idea of the camless engine will quench the car fans' thirst. Cylinder deactivation is allowed by the valve lift and opening time which are infinitely variable, since there is no camshaft. Furthermore, the system proves to save a lot of energy. Even more impressive, it comes with drawbacks in areas such as reliability and refinement, thus keeping such a development from being unveiled until now.
