Lancia Thema will be launched in Geneva

The next month's Geneva Motor Show will have Fiat Group delivering an entire bunch of concerted Chryslers, mainly two Chrysler 300-based Lancia Themas. The two cars will be parading the Swiss catwalk and they will also be offered with the top of the range Executive trim level. The new Thema AWD is considered to be the most important of the two as it will be powered by the 286 HP 3.6-liter Pentastar engine paired to an e-shift eight-speed automatic transmission. Starting next autumn, the car will hit the dealers across important European markets, with the Executive and Platinum trim levels. The automaker stated that the innovative Lancia Thema AWD system automatically deactivated the all-wheel drive whenever it was unnecessary and without the driver's intervention to totally release the torque onto the rear axle, thus maximising fuel savings while guaranteeing the outstanding performance and handling characteristic of rear-wheel drive. The car maker added that the AWD system automatically switched on during the coldest months of the year, when sliping was detected or when rain or snow were detected by the windscreen wiper sensors, thus optimally tackling poor grip surfaces.
