Volkswagen Passat launches Passat Alltrack

The Tokyo Auto Show that took place last December hosted the debut of the new Passat Alltrack from Volkswagen, which now is available for orders in important markets of Europe. The carmaker decided to mark this occasion by releasing a series of fresh photos that beautifully enhance the vehicle. The Alltrack has received a raised suspension, aluminum underbody protection panels, as well as plastic cladding for the body, while being based on the Estate version of the popular VW model. As compared to the standard Passat, the body is 3 cm higher as it sits 165 mm off the ground, while a better approach together with departure angles were obtained due to the front and rear bumper, which have been changed. Providing an electrohydraulic Haldex clutch, the Alltrack has also been fitted with 4Motion AWD as standard, even being available with a dedicated off-road mode integrating hill descent assisst, which is able to automatically brake the vehicle when the driver faces a too sterp descent angle.
