Acura MDX and Honda Pilot were recalled

A safety recall has recently been announced by the North American luxury division of Honda and it involves 8,709 2012 MY Acura MDX crossovers, as well as the Pilot that was built on the same platform. The problem seems to be a valve case in the fuel tank which may result in potential fires caused by a design flaw. This may lead to a leak of the fuel from the tank, which in turn increases the risk of a fire. The local dealers can be contacted by the owners of the affected vehicles in order to have the part replaced free of charge. If one wants to find out if his or her is affected, can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236 or Acura/Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
