McLaren GT division is moving

McLaren plans to move its engineering center in Woking, Southern England one year after the stunning 12C GT3 made its racing debut. The team has not the possibility to share resources, technology and even exchange ideas with different specialists working in other McLaren Group brands. The GT supplied 25 12C GT units for racing in 2012 in Europe. The team will be on the same place premises occupied by the carmaker between 1987 and 2004. For a good development of their work, to increase sales, to improve marketing, design and manufacturing operations, 60.000 sq. ft. will be the office space. This will actually include a very large area for workshops, preparations and test bays all gathered in the same place. The carmaker will also provide a state-of-the-art engine development center. This same site will represent the home for the some McLaren 12C sports cars, used during customer test drive programs. The test drive program is called Pure McLaren and it operates all across Europe. Thanks to the new location, the carmaker will have the opportunity to work hard and well on a unique package of Formula 1-inspired technology. This is how the 12C GT3 will be enabled of achieving high performance. Their new customer teams will receive a world-class engineering support service from McLaren Group. The plans of the group include the development of a new manufacturing program. This is not all. The carmaker is thinking of producing different specifications of race cars that will be used everywhere in the world next year. The specialists will be capable of improved performance and professionalism now that they joined forces and work home. Soon we will have the opportunity to see the real results.
