Fiat 500L will be powered by 105 HP TwinAir engine

Delivering 85 HP, Fiat's turbocharged V-twin engine is featured by the Punto and the 500 and it is going to spread further in Fiat's range as both cars seem to be quite light and small. Due to the fact that Fiat's five-door 500L is bigger as compared to the regular 500, it will be released with a more powerful 105 HP version of the 0.9-liter engine together with the standard 85 HP version. The company representatives will announce the official fuel efficiency figures, although they are likely to be similar to the lower-powered version. The CO2 emissions achieved will be of 112 g/km. Running on LPG and producing 80 HP, another version of the TwinAir will be released for the Fiat Panda, but only from 2013 onward, this gas-powered engine will be available on the 500L. According to some reports, a small hybrid system is being developed with its final phase to be reached, the only news being that it will be paired to a DCT and the TwinAir engine as a base. As it represents a system designed for small car uses, it is also expected to be used in the 500.
