Due to its low price and the increased interior room it provides, the new Chevrolet Aveo has been selling quite well in Europe, thus proving that the South Korean design division which is responsible for cars like Cruze and the Spark, has done a good work for GM and the Chevrolet brand. However, the European market has been missing a hotter version of the eye-catching hatchback, commonly known in the US as the Sonic RS. The car model was spy photographed wearing no disguise on European roads, hinting at an Aveo version. A turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec engine producing 140 HP will power the car model and it is expected to be paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, a lowered and stiffened suspension by MacPherson featuring performance-tuned dampers, 17-inch alloy wheels, a full body kit and four-wheel disk brakes as standard, represent other changes over the regular Aveo. Fans should not expect the 0-100 km/h sprint to be under 8 seconds.
