Mercedes revealed the first pictures of its SLC AMG prototype

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz will introduce soon the Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG, a lighter, smaller and more affordable sports car in comparison with the SLS AMG GT. In the gallery below you can see some spy pictures taken during the testing of the new model. This will actually be a very powerful competitor for the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911 and the name is final as Mercedes-Benz design boss Gorden Wagener made it official and confirmed it. This new sports car will have as base the shortened version of the larger platform of the SLS AMG GT. At a closer look at the model in the pictures you can see it uses body panels borrowed from the SLS GT, but just for testing purposes only. The production version on the other hand will have its own bespoke design. There is no information avaialable on the power train now as it is quite early, but the place of the Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG in the lineup indicates the fact that maybe the carmaker will choose both a V6 and a V8. Mercedes-Benz carmaker might also prepare a surprise for its fans, a roadster model that will be introduced after the coupe model. It might even receive Gullwing style doors. Not a lot of information will be revealed soon, but we will witness a lot of teasing from the German specialists. Everything will stop before the production version of the Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG will arrive on the market, so somewhere in 2015. Source: carscoopblogspot
