Cadillac has big plans for the 2013-2015 model year


It seems that Cadillac will have a very busy next year trying to present a flagship limousine that has as base the well-known Ciel convertible sedan concept and a lot of other plans. Different sources reveal plans Cadillac made for the 2013-2015 model years. Apparently General Motors approved the development of a full size, rear-wheel drive luxury sedan. This model will actually beat the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Jaguar XJ. The new vehicle will have a platform called Omega and will feature V6 and V8 engines. They might be supercharged and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The carmaker also offers the possibility of all-wheel drive. In terms of styling, you should know that the model will have a lot of elements borrowed from the Ciel study. There is no certain information, but it might be available in dealerships starting 2015. The Detroit carmaker will also develop an improved version of the SRX crossover and will present it before the end of the year and next month, Cadillac will reveal the ATS sedan, a model that is a true competition for the German BMW 3-Series. The American specialists had plans to develop a convertible variant as well, but were put on hold and also they will not make a sport wagon variant. General Motors also wants to replace all important CTS with sedan guise at the middle of next year as a 2014 model year. To handle competitors like the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the carmaker made it bigger in size. The CTS Coupe and V-Series performance variant will arrive in 2015. Cadillac also plans to include an all-new SRX crossover before the end of 2014, another larger crossover that uses the Lamda platform, a replacement for the Escalade SUV and the ELR Coupe. This last will be equipped with an electronic propulsion system just like the Chevrolet Volt. The ones interested will have the opportunity to purchase it at the end of next year.
