Toyota All-Electric RAV4 beats all rivals in the range

Many enthusiasts would strongly believe that an electric motor added to a moderately-sized SUV would not turn out to be efficient as more drag will substantially be created by the taller and more blunt body shape as compared to a regular hatchback and sedan. The upcoming RAV4 EV is scheduled to make its showroom debut in one month's time and Toyota representatives have announced that the eye-catching car model beats all current EVs found on sale in the US. However, it is not the first time Toyota has had a RAV4 EV in their showrooms, which makes it the most reliable EV currently on sale today, also being the most practical and largest. Thus, a single charge, using an "extended" charging option, allows the SUV to travel 113 miles, while 92 miles are reached when no extra juice is added to the battery. The figure is undoubtedly better than the 73 miles that the Leaf achieves or than the 76 miles reached by the Ford Focus. Only Tesla Motors is able to beat the RAV4 as the people from there are in charge of its batteries and drivetrain. At a cost of $49,800, Toyota aims to sell around 2,600 units between 2012 and 2014, while the RAV4 EV also qualifies for a combined refund by both the federal government and the state of 410,000.
