2014 Lexus might make its debut in Detroit

Lexus has no shortage of sedans right now as the carmaker is going to hit the market with a significantly refreshed LS, a new 2013 ES and the GS. There are also some rumors that announce the Japanese car manufacturer currently working on a compact hybrid hatchback inspired by the architecture of the Yaris Hybrid and Prius C. Peter Evans, who is the Lexus Australia marketing manager, stated in an interview with Australian publication GoAuto, that an all-new, third-generation IS was going to receive "early publicity" towards the end of the year in order to make its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. From the test mules that had already been spotted, it was obvious that they used the same body as the second generation, which was exposed to the enthusiast public at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005. The current IS is available to its customers integrating two engine configurations, 250 and 350, while the European customers are offered an additional diesel in the form of the 220D. The Bavarians are going to offer Toyota diesel engines as they signed a contract, but the diesel is not currently covering the Lexus brand.
