One Fisker Karma had burst into flames for no apparent reason

There is no doubt about the Karma, the model Fisker specialists have developed with so much dedication, it is a very hot car, and not just literally. There was an incident back in May, this year involving two Karma models. Apparently it caught fire in a Texas garage, for no apparent reason. Another similar incident took place in a parking lot in Woodside, California. The owner was coming back to his car after shopping and found it covered in flames. It seems that the driver caller Fisker carmaker, but he was advised to call the emergency 911. In only a few minutes the firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident and managed to stop the fire. Only the front side of the driver was destroyed as the specialists were very efficient. The A123 battery system is situated under the passenger compartment, in the center of the car, so it is possible the pack is not the one responsible for the flames. In a statement, Fisker declared that they know where the fire was located, away from the lithium-ion battery and electric motors, but the vehicle was not being charged at the time. Normally, with electric vehicles, the first thought goes towards the battery and other high voltage components, but this is not the case. The carmaker had never had any problems with any of its vehicles resulting in fire incidents because of the battery or high voltage components. It seems that the carmaker had started an investigation and the results will be offered in a statement. Fisker Automotive is leading the automotive industry with its unique EV with extended range power-train technology, which combines the power and efficiency of electric drive with the range of a gasoline engine.
