Lincoln is working on the MKC crossover

After having managed to sell more cars than Scion and trialing behind Infiniti, the FoMoCo sub-brand appears to be focusing on a volume car, though the Lincoln MKZ might only be the size of a Fusion sedan. According to a report released by Autonews, Lincoln aims to offer first a crossover as there is no way to address this problem with a rival for the Cadillac XTS. An affordable entry model will be provided by Lincoln to the luxury crossover segment in about a year or so. Its name will be MKC and its architecture is expected to be that of the 2013 Ford escape, which in overseas markets is known as Kuga. This implies that the Lincoln crossover will be available with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and probably a 1.6-liter EcoBoost, which is not to be found on any Lincoln.
