Prodrive is leaving FPV at the end of this year

Prodrive and Ford Australia have joined forces and created the Ford Performance Vehicles. Apparently Prodrive is giving up its share and so Ford Australia will take the lead. The joint venture managed to develop models like the Falcon-based GT RSSPEC and F6 high performance sedans. Before the end of this year, Prodrive will be out of the performance car market. Apparently, under the agreement, the Australian division of Ford will purchase all assets of Ford Performance Vehicles and will take full responsibility for all activities from the end of this year. In conclusion, the development programs, the marketing of the FPV brand and the manufacture of FPV engines and vehicles will be covered by the company. American specialists recognize the passion and dedication of FPV enthusiasts and try to assure them that the FPV brand will continue to thrive in Australia even after the current arrangements change. They will do all their best because the performance Ford has established is part of their history and DNA.

The production of Ford Performance Vehicle power plants will be transferred to the Geelong engine plant Ford has and the full vehicle assembly will be moved to Campbellfield plant that also belongs to Ford. Unfortunately, 32 employees will loose their jobs from the performance car division by the end of 2012. The customers, on the other hand can stay calm as nothing will change for them and so, the carmaker will continue to provide incredible performance and specialist service just like until now.

The Australian Ford will suffer quite a big shock, but in the end they are professionals and nothing can stay in way of performance. Even if the agreement between them and Prodrive ended, customers come first and the specialists will make sure they will enjoy the future products they have to offer.
