First images of the Volkswagen Golf VII were leaked

The Volkswagen Golf VII is scheduled to make its debut tomorrow and this piece of news brings the enthusiasts the rear and interior of this eye-popping car model. The photo credits belong to Auto Zeitung, although their actual source is unknown. However, it is quite obvious the interest of leaking such photos one day ahead the Golf 7's official launch. The Golf is following its traditional path as it was expected with the visual changes, the ones that focus on the rear of the car, being as limited as they were when the German car manufacturer launched the sixth generation, although the fifth generation brought considerable changes as compared to its predecessor. As far as the interior is concerned, the changes are quite challenging though they do not necessarily capture the design elements, but more like a true philosophy with the center console angled towards the driver a tad. The Golf VII rides on the VW Group's new MQB modular platform which already made its debut on the Audi A3. This platform-riding was not used by the 6th generation of the Golf, which was considered to be a facelift for the 5th one. Despite the fact that it will grow in size, the Golf will be lighter due to the new underpinnings, while turbocharging is expected to be the Golf's best friend as the engine range is to include downsized units aimed to increase efficiency. A concept that is going to preview the GTI version will be presented at next month's Paris Motor Show, thus offering excitement to hot hatch fans.
