Opel Vauxhall is teasing us with the Cascada

Opel / Vauxhall have a surprise for us. Not long ago, the company released a teaser image of their new achievement, the Cascada. This model is actually the first mid-size convertible in the last few decades the carmaker had built. It measures 4.7 meters in length. This only means it is 70 mm longer than the Audi A5 Cabriolet and 225 mm longer than the Opel Astra TwinTop. This last one was discontinued around two years ago. The engineers have offered a full-size fabric roof that can be used in a very easy way. By only touching a button, the roof closes or opens at speeds of up to 30 mph, which means around 48 km/h. Unfortunately we will not have the opportunity to see the new Opel / Vauxhall Cascade this month at the Auto Show that take place in the City of Lights, but the automaker did said it will offer it for sale sometime at the beginning of next year. Too bad there is no available information on the starting price of the new model, but one thing is clear, we will have to pay less than for an A3 Cabrio. This one makes us dig deep in out pockets and take out GBP 29.455. Actually this price was established for the British customers. There is no way of knowing what will power the new Opel / Vauxhall Cascada, but the hood might hide one of the more powerful engines offered by the carmaker as the Cascada is meant to be a more premium vehicle. As for the interior, the new model will borrow a lot of styling and design elements from the well know Astra. On the other hand, the specialists might offer higher quality materials. The underpinnings will probably be a combination between the Astra and the Insignia as the new Opel / Vauxhall Cascada is situated somewhere in between the two models in terms of length. Even if the Cascada will not be revealed at the Paris Motor Show, the carmaker will not come empty-handed. It will introduce the all-new Adam, a model that is scheduled to go on sale in the first couple of month of next year.
