McLaren is preparing to reveal the F1 successor, the P12

Even though McLaren tried very hard to keep its new future model a secret, it did not succeed. To be more precise, we are talking about the F1 successor, called the P12. The model was spotted at the Pebble Beach and different information started to appear, including a very inciting image. It seems that McLaren plans to introduce the model in an official way at the Paris Motor Show this month. Different rumors said that the new McLaren P12 will be powered by a slightly different version of the 3.8-liter V8 engine that also powers the MP4-12C combined with KERS that in the end it is capable of generating approximately 1.000 horsepower. Like almost all rumors, these ones were false. Apparently the model will produce 803 horsepower and it will have KERS. This will provide another 160 horsepower, so the final output will be 963 horsepower. Despite the incredible power, the acceleration time is a bit disappointing. The P12 will be capable of speeding from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, just like the Japanese model, the Nissan GT-R. The model will be capable of reaching a top speed of 239 mph, which is not that bad. In terms of handling, it seems that the P12 has active aerodynamics and can generate 2Gs of force in the corners on street tires and it will also be a bespoke car with an incredible styling. It seems that the carmaker will only build 500 units and the starting price per unit was established at $ 1.390.000. There are a lot of different other claims that are actually based on flaky rumors, which never come true, only very rare. Now all we have to do is wait for the carmaker to officially reveal the P12 supercar at the Paris Motor Show, later this month.
