The AMG division of Mercedes-Benz has a lot of work to do. Why? Well, the specialists are working on a lot of new models like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG edition of the upcoming W205 series which will replace the C-Class found on the market now, the rival of the BMW M3. The carmaker plans to introduce it maybe in 2014, but until then check out the photo gallery below and see the test car running a few laps on the Nurburgring track. Unfortunately, just like we were expecting, the car is covered in camouflage, but we can see the wider fenders and bigger brakes, in comparison with the previous model. Of course, all these differences are really hard to spot now because of the wrapping, but are there. According to different specialists, the styling of the W205 C-Class series will have a lot in common with the design of a larger W222 S-Class sedan which the carmaker plans to introduce next year. This new variant also features a stronger aero package and more powerful wheels. The new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will be built with rear wheel drive just like other C-Class models.

The current model receives power from a 6.2-liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine, but it seems that the engineers will equip the new model with something else, a bi-turbocharged unit, apparently. There is no way of knowing for sure, but chances are the supercharged V8 engine will deliver the same 451 horsepower. More torque will be obtained from a lower engine speed. The CO2 emission level will be reduced and the car will use less fuel. The carmaker offers a performance package, but also a limited Black Series Edition which will enable the car to deliver up to 500 horsepower, or at least this it what we have heard.
