GM offers more info on their new Corvette C7

It has passed a long time since General Motors first mentioned the 7th generation Corvette. For the one who do not know yet, the manufacturer will introduce it for the first time on the 13th of January next year, but until than, to make sure we do knot forget about it, reveal different new details, images and information on it. For example, now, General Motors offered information on the aerodynamic properties of the new Corvette C7, but also on the new Gen 5 small block that will offer power to the base models. According the GM, each detail, every line and surface on the 2012 C7 has been modified to be capable of great performance. Corvette chief engineer said the new model integrates a lot more high-performance aerodynamic features than it did so far. To be more precise, the front grille and radiator flow paths reduce lift, this way it improves the stability of the car at really high speeds. The car will remain pressed to the road. The track capability is increased thanks to the functional vents, by channeling air to the brakes, just like heat exchangers for the differential and transmission.

The new design of the Corvette C7 continues the force Corvette has been offering for over six decades now. Designers have developed different parts in the wind tunnel to increase airflow potential, but also improve cooling for a system. The 2014 Corvette C7 has incredible aerodynamics thanks to the form and function that work together as a team. Under the hood, the new model hides a new 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of generating 450 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds. The fuel consumption on the highway reaches a 26 mpg level.
